The Association has recently reviewed 2 policies which are now out for consultation until Friday 27th October 2017.

 

VOID MANAGEMENT POLICY

The Void Management Policy has had a comprehensive review undertaken, where the following changes are being proposed:

  • The introduction provides greater clarity on what we define as a void property
  • A policy background has been included which makes reference to the main Scottish Social Housing Charter Outcomes and Standards relevant to the policy.
  • Additional policy objectives covering matters such as involving service users in setting minimum lettable standards
  • Defining void target timescales and the pre-termination expectations of the landlord
  • Updating the section on Equality & Diversity

 

RENT ARREARS MANAGEMENT POLICY

This Rent Arrears Management Policy has been amended as per below:

    • The Introduction Section has been expanded
    • Now includes a Policy Background which relates to relevant Charter Indicators
    • More defined and clearer Policy objectives
    • The removal of Sections on Early Action & Serious Persistent Arrears which that have been incorporated elsewhere within the policy
    • Removal of Section on Bedroom Tax
    • Clearer guidance for staff on legal action, including the specific pre-action requirements which must be met prior to raising court action
    • New section on enforcing Decrees
    • Removal of reference to Equal Opportunities and includes section on Equality & Diversity as per the SHR Charter Indicator 1
