Every year, usually in June or July, a panel of judges will inspect our gardens. Many of our tenants take great pride in their gardens and we feel it is important to mark this and encourage neighbours to get involved. We have a wide range of fantastic displays each year from small gardens to balconies to back courts. The prize winners being awarded at the Annual General Meeting. Prize winners receive vouchers and a trophy.
The categories of prizes include – best overall garden; best back court; best balcony.
For 2014 we invited applications for ‘garden improvement awards’ of £100 where a group of residents could get together to enhance an area. We were pleased to announce 4 awards at the AGM – these were for Lowndes Court, Rankin Way, Auchenback Court and our sheltered housing complex.

2016 garden judging took place week in July 2016 – with all gardens automatically entered and an extended number of awards this year in recognition of the work that our tenants do in keeping the areas looking great. Winners were announced at the AGM held on 23rd August 2016. Winners were:

Auchenback – 2 nominations – winner Mr and Mrs Carroll
Lower Auchenback – winner was Mr and Mrs Sweeney
Dunterlie – 2 nominations – winner Ms Lynn Fulton and Mr Raymond Cameron
Newton Mearns – winner – Mr Boyd and Mr Gilchrist
Neilston – was awarded the best kept development and Mrs McDougal accepted the prize.
