Our PARTNERSHIP CARE EAST RENFREWSHIRE PROJECT which was launched in April 2014 has now has now helped over 270 local people helping them save approximately £100,000 in welfare benefits and energy costs. The project is a partnership between the Association, Arklet Housing Association, Voluntary Action East Renfrewshire, and East Renfrewshire Citizens Advice Bureau.
Jennifer Wearing our Income Maximisation and Welfare Officer and Amanda Kean, our Energy Advisor have been employed with financial assistance from the Big Lottery to provide advice and information on welfare changes and energy efficiency.
- Jennifer has managed to bring in approximately £84,600 in extra welfare benefits to local tenants. This includes securing an additional £51,562 in housing benefit payments for tenants.
- Amanda can provide each tenant with energy savings tips and help with tariff and fuel selection – saving on average £323 per annum for every household assisted.
- Amanda has secured total savings of approximately £14,225 in reduced energy costs for tenants she has helped.
